Trello
I use Trello for an effective way to communicate during projects. If you are working with people who like to fit 3+ issues into one email with an ambiguous subject heading, you will find this a god-send.
Toggl
Ever say to yourself, “what did I accomplish today?” If you use Toggl consistently, you can see how effectively you are completing your tasks. Bonus: I print out a report and attach it to by-the-hour based invoices.
Focus Keeper
Find that you work better in short sprints? Try the Pomodoro technique. You will find a bunch of tomato- themed apps based on the branding here. Here’s a great explanation.
This app is really fantastic for managing your pacing and giving you short breaks so you can stay on task.
Google Calendar
I just synch my Apple calendar to my Google calendar and let it to the heavy lifting. The only drawback I can see is the lack of privacy protections from Google itself- but they’re only using it to serve you relevant ads. If you are already drinking the kool-aid with Gmail, you might as well benefit.
Stay Focused (Social Media Limit)
So many people talk about the time wasted on social media and claim to want to quit. But the truth is, when you are in business, you can’t afford to cut this valuable way to reach your people out of your life. This chrome extension limits the time you can spend on ANY site and can only be changed 24 hours in advance. HUGE productivity tool!
