Knarled Tree Mandala

I find that the oddest and most un-aesthetic photos give me some of the best mandalas.

I was hiking one day at NCAR and found this poor shell of a tree. It looked like a floppy banana peel that had hardened. Here is the pic I took with my iPhone.

Several weeks later I got it out, put it into Photoshop and started cutting it up…
